I am an interdisciplinary artist with an experimental, research-driven practice. My practice involves a combination of theoretical and practical research, while working across a range of mediums including painting, printmaking, photography, and collage. Rhythm and identity are recurring themes in my work with a particular interest in constructive forces and cycles of repetition. My current research is concerned with gathering testimony of direct experience as a means of embodiment.
Materiality is integral to my work. I collect traces of memories and bodily experience in the gathering of paper ephemera and by recording the impact of my body by acting directly on materials. I create work directly from this material or use this research to interfere with conventional painting and printmaking techniques to create works that are representational in their meaning yet abstract in form. Abstraction in my work is intended to invite greater relationality by blurring the constitutive boundaries of direct representation.
I’ve been a studio artist at Pallas Projects & Studios since 2020.
